Step 1: Select any cell and navigate to the formula bar. Step 2: Enter the following: =RANDBETWEEN(a,b)+c Replace "a" with the minimum value you wish to roll. Replace "b" with the maximum value. Replace "c" with the value of the modifier you wish to add. For example, you would roll 1d20+4 like this: To get multiple dice roles you need to write a RANDBETWEEN for each dice and add them together. For example, enter the following to roll 2d6:
=RANDBETWEEN(1,6)+RANDBETWEEN(1,6) Once you have entered in the formula, a random number will appear in the cell between the range you generated. To get a new number hit SHIFT+F9. Word of Warning: Shift+F9 is the formal way to refresh an excel document. However, there are many other methods that will re-roll your dice, many of which are easy to do accidentally. The most common is that any time you modify a cell, the formulas will refresh and a new value will be rolled. If you want to save the rolled values and still work in the sheet, you will need to copy the results and paste them as values.
